• Repository Information: Repository names, URLs, metadata and dependency information from repositories you select for assessment.
• Project Information: Project names and website URLs submitted with your assessment.
• Assessment Information: Scores, findings and assessment history.
• Payment Information: Transaction references and payment status. Payments are processed through third-party payment providers.
• Technical Information: Basic usage information, error logs and technical records required to operate and maintain the platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account.
• Connect to the source-code platforms you authorise.
• Analyse selected repositories and generate assessment results.
• Maintain assessment history and leaderboard rankings.
• Display your submitted projects and assessment results publicly.
• Process payments and manage reassessments.
• Maintain platform security and respond to support requests.

3. Repository Access

TechieDebt accesses repositories that you explicitly select and authorise for assessment.

We process relevant repository information, including dependency files and metadata, to analyse your technology stack and generate assessment results. We do not intend to store complete repository source-code files as part of our assessment records.

4. Public Leaderboard

TechieDebt maintains a public leaderboard to showcase developers and their projects.

The following information is publicly displayed:

• Developer name or username.
• Number of projects submitted.
• Primary project name and website link.
• Overall assessment score and leaderboard rank.

Your developer page also displays the names and website links of your other submitted projects.

Private repository names, URLs and source-code contents are not displayed publicly.

5. Third-Party Services

TechieDebt uses third-party services to operate certain parts of the platform:

• Clerk: Account registration, authentication and session management.
• GitHub, Bitbucket and GitLab: Source-code platform integrations used to access repositories you authorise.
• PostgreSQL: Database storage for account, repository and assessment information.
• npm Registry: Package-version information used during dependency assessments.

These services may process information necessary to provide their respective functions and are subject to their own privacy policies.

6. Data Security and Retention

We take reasonable measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse.

We retain account information and assessment records for as long as necessary to provide our services, maintain assessment history and meet applicable legal requirements.

7. Your Privacy Rights

You may contact us to request access to, correction of or deletion of your personal information.

You can also disconnect your source-code integrations or revoke their access through the respective platform settings.

Some information may need to be retained where required by law or for legitimate operational purposes.

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services or data-handling practices change. Updated versions will be published on this page.
