3. Source-code integrations
TechieDebt allows users to connect their GitHub, Bitbucket or GitLab accounts.
By connecting an account, you authorise TechieDebt to access the repositories and information covered by the permissions you approve.
Please note:
- Connecting an account does not automatically start an assessment.
- You must select the repositories you want assessed.
- You must have permission to access and submit those repositories.
- Repository access is intended for assessment purposes and is read-only.
- You can revoke the permissions granted to TechieDebt through the relevant source-code platform or available account settings.
TechieDebt is not responsible for access issues caused by changes to your source-code account, repository permissions or third-party platform services.
4. Assessment process
To start an assessment, you must:
- Create or access your TechieDebt account.
- Connect one or more supported source-code platforms.
- Select the repositories you want included in the assessment.
- Enter the names of the projects you want to showcase.
- Provide the corresponding project website links.
- Select one project as your primary or featured project.
- Complete the assessment payment.
- Start the assessment.
TechieDebt evaluates the selected repositories collectively and generates one overall assessment score.
4.1 Overall score
Your score represents the technical condition of the repositories submitted for that assessment.
It does not represent your entire GitHub, Bitbucket or GitLab account unless all relevant repositories have been included.
TechieDebt does not generate individual project or repository scores under the current assessment model.
4.2 Assessment results
Assessment results are generated using available repository information, supported dependency files, lockfiles and relevant technical information.
Results may vary depending on the repositories submitted, supported technologies and available third-party information.
TechieDebt does not guarantee that every technical issue, outdated dependency or compatibility concern will be identified.
5. Assessment fees and payments
TechieDebt charges the following one-time assessment fees:
- International customers: USD $7 per assessment.
- Customers in India: INR ₹499 per assessment.
These are fixed prices for their respective markets. The INR price is not calculated by converting the USD price at the prevailing exchange rate.
Available payment methods may include:
International payments
- International debit and credit cards.
- Other supported international payment methods.
Indian payments
- UPI.
- Indian debit and credit cards.
- Net banking.
- Other supported Indian payment methods.
The applicable price, taxes and any additional charges will be displayed at checkout before payment.
One payment covers one assessment submission, regardless of the number of selected repositories, projects or supported source-code platforms included in that submission.
Every new assessment or reassessment requires a separate payment.
An assessment will begin after successful payment confirmation.
6. Reassessment
You may request another assessment after a minimum waiting period of 15 calendar days from the completion of your previous assessment.
The following rules apply:
- The 15-day period includes Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
- Each reassessment costs USD $7 for international customers or INR ₹499 for customers in India.
- Reassessment is not free.
- A new assessment generates a new overall score based on the repositories submitted for that assessment.
- Previous assessment records may be retained for historical reference.
- The latest completed assessment may be used for leaderboard ranking.
- The waiting period applies to the developer's next assessment submission, not separately to individual repositories.
7. Public leaderboard
TechieDebt provides a public leaderboard where developers can be ranked based on their overall assessment scores.
Each developer receives one leaderboard entry, regardless of the number of projects or repositories submitted.
The main leaderboard may display:
- Rank.
- Developer name or username.
- Number of submitted projects.
- Primary or featured project.
- Featured project's website link.
- Overall TechieDebt score.
7.1 Developer-specific page
Visitors can click a developer's name to view a separate page containing:
- Developer name or username.
- Overall assessment score.
- Number of submitted projects.
- Submitted project names.
- Corresponding project website links.
Individual project scores and repository-level scores are not provided under the current assessment model.
7.2 Project names and website links
You are responsible for providing accurate project names and website links.
You may select one submitted project as your primary or featured project for the main leaderboard.
By submitting project information, you authorise TechieDebt to display that information publicly.

- You have permission to showcase those projects.
- The submitted website links are accurate.

Project names, website links and featured-project selections submitted as part of a completed assessment are associated with that assessment. Changes to these details are not available as free profile edits under the current platform model.
TechieDebt does not guarantee website traffic, customers, sales, employment opportunities or other promotional results from leaderboard participation.
